Evaluating Game Mechanics, Gameplay, and Scenarios: Red Matter - Review
Hello, here I wanted to give my quick opinion again about the game you are seeing on the screen, which is Red Matter. The first thing I have to say is that I feel exactly the opposite of the game that I just evaluated after this one, which was Kung Fu Fist VR or however you pronounce it, the one you can see here, why do I say exactly the opposite, because this game, even though the graphics are as commented, I think it is not like someone says an insane criticism, they are terrible, we already talked about this in the video inside, apart from the fact that the music does not help much, that is, it is there but it is not felt, it is simply in the background and not much happens anymore, but as much as it is entertaining, this is a bit the opposite, we have here some graphics as you can see, this seems like a PCVR game that is not only on Steam but is also in the meta store, that is, it looks that good too if you run it directly from the device, but as much as it is an extremely boring game, unfortunately it is that because it is simply searching.
Puzzles and little else
Not even searching just solving some puzzles that are sometimes simple very rarely and most of the time they are not very foolish here it is a bit also like who says the criticism that the puzzles you solve as soon as you see them a few seconds you already know what you have to do or directly you cannot solve it and by not solving them you have to look for help, which drives me crazy to be watching all the time on YouTube what I have to do since they are very rare also here another little thing that was the comparison I was making with kungfu eh is precisely the sounds as I told you in Kung fu Fist vr no well they are there they are already in the background but here the sound the music is as who says minimal there is always a little background sound some background music but no matter what I think they play quite well especially for the part as who says of the scare again you have to play it I do not want to spur too much but when they put there the surprise that they put a certain character that appears on the screen in type the sound of surprise that they show or well that they reproduce it hits it very well or it fits very well together with the br experience that can be achieved then Well here you can see a little of the comparison that I told you about with the graphics, let's remember that this is what we have there, those rag doll-type hands, that and here we have some hands as pretty as the ones you can see on the screen or below as you can see, obviously here as you can see, it's a good type of game with a space theme, I love space games, a fairly slow game and I'm not referring to the execution but to its movements and I think that also plays in its favor at least for me because I didn't get dizzy That's why I think it was because notice that this one doesn't have the tunnel mode and so I didn't die, I never got dizzy and I can play it perfectly, but for the rest, what is the game and why do I say that it's boring because it's simply solving puzzles
And here is where one also wonders a little about the context of everything, that is to say, the puzzles, it's not that I dislike puzzles, occasionally it's fine and each game can place and create the theme that they prefer, but no matter what, they always feel like games very closed, that is to say, it is simply an extremely beautiful scenario, as I was telling you, it seems like a PCVR game, but it has a mechanic, a mechanic, and that's all, apart from the game.
Very short game, 1:30 min for 25 dollars
It's extremely short you can finish it in about 2 hours and a half and well if you know the puzzles it will be in half an hour and a little more literally there are I don't know to give a number like 15 or 20 rooms with some puzzles you solve it and the game is over which also brings me a bit like the criticisms that I always have with br games that I see them as extremely expensive for what they are I don't know if this one appears here the price was like 19 here it is $5 let's see me for $25 literally to talk about a game a recent game and well recent that I bought and that just came out I bought the Final Fantasy one Well I bought it in a package It cost me as I told you in that video In case it came out It cost me $55 but I bought the first one and I bought the second one I never buy games on sale but if you have if you also like the Final Fantasy theme a little, Final Fantasy games usually go down to half price for example The Final Fantasy of El el nu to see the oo that one doesn't go below 7 8 and it's a game that we're talking about that since 1997 around is over 20 years old and still a pretty expensive game for what it came out for the play 1 and still the remas that came out and that's why I bought them seemed to me that they were at a good price again In reference as they always come out we should go back and even so if you put it to divide the two 55 d by two games let's say the last one at 30 and the first at 25 and here they are charging me 25 for this and we are talking about a good game simply Look for it there Final Fantasy 7 the remaster or the games with a lot of mechanics a lot of hours and everything else So I literally do not understand these prices very well and here I am talking especially because it is the same store the steam store I understand that it is also a bit of the problem that I have when I release my game that this is a bit this I will also talk a little more in another video but it is a bit hateful for example I always complain on the other channel about the prices that one sells the courses in Udemy but making a game costs a lot more then here too there is something a little strange that is
The studio is small
The smaller the studio, as they say, the more expensive the game is going to be because fewer people are surely going to get it, which, for example, is not going to have the problem that it is a larger studio, it can bring out a much higher quality product, but obviously more expensive and it will sell more, there you go back to the base. But well, I suppose it is something like that, right? I mean, as I say, it is simply a personal opinion and it may not be very based on reality, simply in one's context or the reality that one has as a consumer, each company will know how to handle its, well, its prices, but even if it is for a game of an hour and a half, it seems very expensive to me and for the few mechanics that I mention to you and in the end it does not matter if it is debr Or at least to me or if it is directly for a flat screen, it is two ions, what interests us is that we pass the time and a little more, so that is also a little what I wanted to comment on, as I was telling you.
About puzzles
The puzzles are a bit complicated, they are the game, the essence of the game, really here what makes the game stick is precisely a bit of a space-type theme that you start and some strange things appear, then you want to know what it is, I don't dare to say what the story is because really the story, well, you can tell it in three lines, not what they carried out here in the game, that is, what they carried out, therefore, they are more than anything events, that is to say, you want to know where it is, what it is doing, what is going to happen, why are these things happening and that type of aspect, I don't want to spur on much about the story, therefore, eh, I prefer to leave it to you if in case you want to enjoy it, which I recommend. Even if it is for Even if you play it for 10 or 15 minutes a day, which is what I did, I went little by little until I passed it due to its duration. So that. On the one hand, as for the puzzles, as I was telling you, I think they are basically giving some levers there, leveling fluids, completing some figures, aspects of that type, one of the puzzles
700 dollars to solve color problems
was to solve these little colors just as you're seeing on the screen then I take out the stone what you have no idea So that's where one says Also hey Hey is really spending 700 for the blessed helmet Or at least that it is the cheapest but in my case it was 300 more than it would be traditional to buy the game for $25 Unless you catch it in some offer for simply putting on a mechanic that is solving puzzles in this case solving little colors then there comes a moment of truth that takes me out because Hey I don't know invent another one no So as I tell you they are a little complicated So the next thing that leads me is that one could also think Well if it is that simple It may be a game oriented for children but no I think that more than anything they oriented it for adults, that is to say more or less my age around there more or less that is to say that we already have we look for other types of video games in my case it is good things that look good especially when I have that little helmet stuck to my face and that are more or less demanding, that is to say that they are entertaining but I don't think that It is for children precisely because children, above all, look for more in the gameplay part, that is to say, that it is entertaining. And they may not worry as much about the rest. One looks for something a little more balanced, I say, although it is a matter of taste and above all for the puzzle part, since a child who has less ability than one can surely find it difficult. So I don't think it is very oriented towards children, apart from the fact that it is not as it says.
Simple but adult game
It's not funny or anything so I see it a little more oriented towards adults Then I don't understand why they didn't add another mechanic there too to be a little more entertaining and also a little to the following that for me it is a game with zero replayability, that is, literally it is not that you have collectibles Or at least I did not find any and you do not have something like that that you say look I want to play it again for that reason for I do not know how to beat the boss in another way because when I pass it I have access to another difficulty to other levels etcetera the weapons that I got at the beginning it is a lie, it is none of that if you are going to play it again you are going to have exactly the same experience as you played it from the beginning So it flies a little the same really that I at least played it because they gave it to me in the meta store, that is to say, right now I am subscribed because when I bought the goals they gave me six free months of metaquest Plus and that is why I was able to play it but it is that I really do not see someone who
You're going to spend $25 to play a game for an hour and a half and then it's going to be left there because you're not going to play it again unless you love it.
Final words
As I told you, I like the space-type theme, but here what you can get from the space-type theme is that well, it is shown extremely slow. I suppose because he is on a moon of Saturn, I think. At least because of the planet that appeared in the background, we should go back there, so obviously gravity is less here than on Earth and it moves at 10 per hour as if it had the moon. Literally, everything is very slow, be it a little because of the theme, the hands that are like robotic, that one ASSUMES that he is in a suit, that he is in a suit and that is the way to access it instead of robotic hands or with the hands of a hand like some thick mittens, they have those little robotic hands, sir, but for the rest, it doesn't give you much more of a theme. I mean, no, it doesn't have a theme like it says very strongly about space, it's important to say. I don't know if it is like that, I think not as I am seeing here, a viewer is necessary, those games that could perfectly be brought to the flat screen, I mean, I don't understand why they do it, you don't earn much, of course, more investment, that is obvious, but for the rest, you can perfectly play it with a normal Xbox or PlayStation controller But anyway they wanted to do it like that and the other thing is that to close I think that's how it also looks also because all the scenes are bad, that is to say your player does not affect the scene at all apart from the fact that they are small scenes therefore they can control as they say the resources The bigger the scene obviously the more resources it will demand then a game also an aspect that plays in their favor all the lights are bad all the scenes are bad therefore it is as if you were in an image so what you can interact with the stage is minimal simply some levers some little things that appear on some screen that appears on it occasionally and aspects of that type but shading for example that you say Look I stand here the shading changes no then I think that is why they managed to make it look so good Apart from that I understand that they did it with and I think that when they exported their project I will not know they disabled or removed that is to say it is a real engine they customized it I understand that they removed things because being such a simple game obviously they could remove a lot of real things that are going to consume resources there and that they weren't going to need So I think that was like who says why or how they managed to make it look too so in summary it is that in a game that I find extremely boring something like that I recommend because you take a look at it at least from time to time there are 10 15 minutes if you are a bit like me to well see a little How to advance if you have it if you have the metaquest subscription I recommend it and that you give it a look before it appears or what do I know and that obviously I do not recommend buying it Unless you really know that you are going to like it or I don't know if several people are going to play it I don't really know because as I say it is a game that for me has zero replayability because once played completed you have no there is no apparent reason that you can win something different or that you are going to have a different experience than what you did initially
